Mechanical Fitter -George- Market related salary, Location, George, Eden, Job Type Full-Time. Primary focus of the role: Fault finding and proactively repairing machinery as well as preventative maintenance which enables the production team to produce high quality, safe products. Qualifications: Fitter, Fitter & Turner/Machinist Qualifications. Current driver’s license. Forklift license is desirable. Food Manufacturing knowledge or relevant industry experience.

Requirements: Sound understanding of Gearboxes, Drive Systems, Bearings, Lubrication, Fitting, Alignment, Mechanical Fault Finding. Working at heights, working in confined space, Standby, Shift work, Overtime when necessary. Willing to work in Hot, Humid, dusty, wet, noisy conditions. Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in an FMCG industrial/production/facility maintenance environment.

Key Responsibility: Preventative maintenance and servicing of all production equipment. Fault finding. Responsible for all tools and ensure no tools are left in production areas. Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts. Maintenance of all machinery. Complete preventative maintenance and reactive worksheets from Maintenance Scheduling Program (DMS). Planning and implementation of various maintenance projects. General maintenance of unused machines. In consultation with Production staff, identify equipment and areas requiring attention. Constant review of production line to ensure optimal effectiveness. Provide coverage for annual and personal leave of other maintenance members across all shifts. Salary: R Market related
