Airport Operations Officer (Trainee), Port Hedland, Karratha & Pilbara. About the business and the role: Port Hedland International Airport is currently in an exciting phase of growth, we are delivering a strong pipeline of airside and landside projects, infrastructure development and rewarding career opportunities in a fast-paced workplace. A team of Airport Operations Officers (AOO) are responsible for sound efficient and proactive planning and coordination of Airport Operational matters; assisting with airside and landside maintenance and safety reporting to a high standard.

Job tasks and responsibilities: Entry level on-the-job training and inductions. Lawn and garden maintenance and techniques and use of small hand tools. Under supervision, carry out landside and airside maintenance activities such as painting, asphalt repairs, lighting maintenance and mowing/gardening operations. Handyman duties, plumbing and building repairs of a minor nature. Undertake supervised training in wildlife harassment and reporting procedures. Under supervision, appropriate exposure in AOO/WSO and Air band radio training. Operate minor to medium complexity plant and machinery including the carrying out of service checks. A variety of other tasks as required by the Operations Manager, within the skills and capability of the Trainee.

Skills and experience: Requirements (Selection Criteria) Must be reliable. Customer Service focused. Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills. Computer and technology skills. Hold and maintain a current Valid Driver's Licence for the vehicles used at the Airport. Be willing to undergo pre-employment medical and/or drug and alcohol screening. Must be able to undertake and pass random drug and alcohol testing. Ability to hold and retain and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).

Desirable Requirements: Small machinery use and maintenance. Reticulation, landscaping, and horticulture. Knowledge of OSH processes.
