Operations Manager for Pinetown Sheetmetal Duct Shop, Urgent Location: Pinetown, West Suburbs, Job Type: Full-Time. HVAC duct manufacturing company seeks operations manager to lead a factory 35 staff in Pinetown.

The successful candidate will be required to do the following: Study and understand SANS 1238 standard for duct construction. Be highly committed and dedicated to quality and target dates. Familiarize himself with duct fabrication processes. Perform time & motion studies of typical duct parts. Create a production plan using the time & motion studies in order to meet the client schedule. Adjust resources in order to meet client programme. The ability to react to machine breakdowns with assertiveness in order to minimize downtime. Weekly reports will need to be sent to the M.D. indicating material usage and production vs/ programme. Liaise closely with sales on the programme on a daily basis.

Attributes required: Highly assertive and able to make decisions independently in order to meet the programme and quality objectives. Preferably many years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment. Good people skills in order to liaise both with sales and with factory staff. Proven management background with excellent references. Mechanical background. Highly adaptable. Good IT skills. Be prepared to work after hours including week-ends to achieve production targets. Willing and able to work in a pressure situation and to be prepared to meet production “deadlines”.
