Kitchen & Restaurant Supervisor, Location: Swellendam, Overberg, Job Type: Full-Time. (Live In Position) Country Hotel near Swellendam (Western Cape) requires a Kitchen & Restaurant Supervisor to oversee Restaurant and Kitchen. Applicant needs to be fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English) and be able to train existing staff in the kitchen. Applicant must have a passion for guest relations, well spoken, Previous Restaurant experience essential and of Sober habits. Drivers Licence required.
Most of our guests book on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis, our dinner menu changes daily depending on amount of guests and length of stay. During the day we serve a Pub Lunch style menu and Breakfast in the mornings. We need someone that can Cook as well as teach existing staff to get consistency throughout the different menus.
Job Spec will include but not limited to: Oversee Restaurant and kitchen Staff. Quality Control of food. Menu Planning. Checking on Guests during meals. Standing in for the Barman on His days off. All other reasonable duties to ensure the smooth operation of the Hotel. This is a small Country hotel and we have to work as a team and help out in all departments to ensure the smooth running of the business.
As you should know, in the Hospitality industry there are not Long Weekends and Christmas Holidays therefore we are looking at a Single person with no Dependents. Included in the salary package is SINGLE staff accommodation and meals on days worked. Own transport is advisable because of our remote location. We are situated 45km from Swellendam on the Breede River (of which most is gravel road). Interviews on the premises is essential, NO skype interviews.
