Location, Other, Northern Suburbs, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time. The NDT inspector will be responsible for perform Non-Destructive Testing, with the aim of complying with international standards and client contract specifications.

Desired Qualification/Education: Minimum Grade 12. A formal technical qualification will be considered an advantage.

Methods required: UT: shear and longitudinal waves, for weld joints at least, MT: Hand yoke, applicable in welds at least, VT: Direct inspection, applicable in welds at least. NDT Level II (UT, MT, VT), Proficient in the use of relevant SAP Modules, Must also be proficient in MS Word and Excel, Standards: ISO 9712, SNT-TC-1A (level II), ASNT NDT (level III), SNT-TC—1A (level III).

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in performing NDT functions.

Roles and Responsibilities: Set up and daily calibrate the NDT equipment, Perform and document non-destructive testing on tower sections to be tested, Interpret and evaluate the results for acceptance or rejection, Record and classify the results of the tests according to written procedures and scan plans, Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures, Provide guidance for Production personnel where needed, Work closely with Production, notify any non-conformities of the process or defect of products at all manufacturing phases, stopping the process when required, Report the results of NDT to the appropriate persons, Practical knowledge of applicable materials, fabrication process, and product to select NDT methods and establish NDT techniques, Adapt and maintain all the equipment used for Quality checks, To be familiar with other NDT methods, Assume full responsibility for your inspections and other assigned duties, Assist the quality department in reviewing and updating standards, Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.
