Automotive Technician (mechanic), Location, Milnerton, West Coast, Advertised By Private, Job Type Full-Time.

Our workshop specializes in the service and repair of Volvo cars and is in need of an experienced, thorough Mechanic for our service department.  The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on customers' cars, including AC and electrical problems.  We're looking for a well-trained and highly organised professional who takes pride in his or her work and can perform various customer service duties as required throughout the day.  We need a professional with a flexible schedule and a willingness to work overtime when needed.

Mechanic's responsibilities: Provide workshop foreman with detailed inspection report for repairs and replacement of parts. Repair vehicles based on the diagnosed issues and repair estimate. Test drive vehicles after repairs are completed to ensure mechanical soundness and to determine whether any other problems exist. Describe vehicles condition to customer and answer any follow-up questions. File appropriate documentation on each repair. Must be able to work without supervision.

Minimum requirements for position: Matric certificate. Trade test certification. 5+ years of automotive repair experience. Valid driver's licence. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct all repairs. Must have own full set of hand tools to perform required repair. Ability to operate diagnostic tools.
