Support & Education Coordinator (Sec). West Kootenay Region - Perm Full Time. Working independently and as part of a provincial team, the SEC works with the Society’s First Link® service to provide outreach to clients, deliver support and education programs in the West Kootenay region, build strong community professional relationships. Based in Nelson or Castlegar, BC. (to be determined with successful candidate) Travel in West Kootenay Region required.
Includes: Delivery of standard workshops for caregivers, people with early symptoms of dementia; develop/oversee support groups for family/other care partners and people living with early symptoms of dementia; recruit/support volunteer facilitators. Manage First Link® referral process to facilitate early intervention.
Must have: degree with 3-5yrs experience in health/social agency OR equivalent combination of education and experience; extensive knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease/dementia and caregiving issues; exp. providing support & education in human services setting; exp. presenting structured education, group facilitation, volunteer mgt, building community connections.
