Location, Century City, Cape Town, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time. A telecommunications service provider in Century City is looking for an Assistant Accountant.
Duties will include, but are not limited to: Daily Reporting, Daily sales stats reporting, per sales rep and agent (projected sales, active devices, zero trading devices, average revenue per unit). Daily direct sales and agents income statement reporting, including gross profit per airtime, electricity and other; actual month to date and projected for the month versus budget. Inventory. Ensure all inventory movements are correctly processed. Write off hardware spares usage on a monthly basis. Investigation into and write off of stock variances on a monthly basis. Assist with stock reconciliations between Pastel accounting system and Content Ready. Bank & Cash. Prepare and load daily EFT payments. Follow up on bank related queries, i.e. unauthorized debit orders. Reconcile and post 2 Vending cashbooks. Reconcile and post petty cash cashbook. Accounts Payable. Capturing of supplier invoices. Ensure all documentation is correct e.g. correct company name, VAT number, addresses etc.
Ensure correct posting in Pastel Evolution. Request statements and invoices from creditors, ensuring invoices are obtained timeously. Prepare monthly requisitions for supplier/creditor payments. Review monthly creditors age analysis. Accounts Receivable. Ensure all invoices are raised with the correct supporting documentation. Ensure correct posting in Pastel Evolution. Review monthly age analysis to ensure payments are received. Ensure any adhoc invoicing is raised Fixed Assets.
Maintain fixed assets registers. Update fixed assets registers monthly with additions and supporting documentation. Process monthly depreciation journals and disposal of asset journals where applicable. Ensure fixed assets registers balance back to GL. Balance Sheets. Reconciliation of bank accounts on a monthly basis. Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, providing supporting documentation. Income Statements. Prepare monthly Payphones income statement in Excel from Pastel trial balance. Report on any variances from actual to budget. Prepare monthly sales reconciliation of Payphones recharges and commission income
Minimum Requirements: Relevant financial qualification (Degree/ BTech). Minimum 1-2 years relevant working experience. Experience on MS Office (Excel experience essential). Pastel experience is advantageous. Proficient in English, written and verbal Problem Solving. Guiding & Developing Others. Leadership. Teamwork, Resilient, Attention to detail.
