Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Red Seal Certificate - Industrial Instrument Mechanics
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Type of Service and Repair: Pneumatic and electro-pneumatic sequential control systems, Hydraulic and electro-hydraulic sequential control systems, Electrical control systems, Electronic process instrumentation, Pneumatic process instrumentation, In-line process analyzers, Computerized instrumentation systems, Primary control element and sensors maintenance and application, Programmable logic controllers (PLC)
Specific Skills: Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems, Repair and adjust system components, Remove and replace defective parts, Install new control instruments, Calibrate components and instruments, Determine testing and maintenance procedures, Install new measuring instruments
Additional Skills: Read blueprints, Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work, Read circuit diagrams, Logical approach for troubleshooting, Coach and instruct apprentices
