Timber Cruiser, Evaluator / Project Supervisor

Job Description: Hedberg and Associates, based in Squamish BC, is a diversified forestry and natural resource management company. The company draws from a wide range of forestry experience which has allowed the firm to branch out into many resource sectors. The firm provides consulting services to the forest industry, energy sector, telecommunication and transmission/distribution line industry. Hedberg and Associates continues to specialize in forest management, silviculture, operational planning, cutting permit applications and appraisals, including field layout of roads and cut blocks.
We are looking for an experienced timber cruiser / evaluator and waste surveying experience will be considered an asset. The successful candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of timber cruising experience, and have completed a post-secondary forestry program and either be registered with the ABCFP, or have the ATE/ATC designations. We are a highly motivated group of individuals and will provide employees the opportunity to continue their advancement in the forest sector and other resource industries.
Employees will be responsible for completing and overseeing timber cruising, waste and residue surveys and the preparation of operational forestry plans. In addition to these duties, work in other phases of forestry work will be required including road and cut block layout when required, as well as work on other projects including the clean energy sector and transmission line layout.
The position will be predominantly field based with work in all types of weather and terrain. We are a local company but require some work to be completed in remote locations.

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with education and experience.
Job Qualifications: Proficient with all basic forestry field equipment. Valid BC Drivers License. Healthy, fit individuals who are able to complete work in a variety of outdoor environments. 3 years of timber cruising experience. Proficient with Road Eng, Word and Excel software programs. Familiarity with Trimble GPS products is an asset.
