We are currently seeking high caliber Senior Process Graphics Design Supervisor (Drafting Manager) candidates for Calgary. You will be working for one of the world’s leading engineering, procurement and construction companies to the Oil, Gas & Petrochemical sector.
Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located.
Responsibilities:
    Lead / manage a department of ~10 technical staff
    Interface and communicate professionally with all parties involved
    Work with the discipline engineers, project engineers and the drafting team to ensure that engineering drawings reflect the established scope, specifications, and applicable codes and standards for each project
    Managing drafting activities to ensure functional project requirements are satisfied in accordance with established project schedules
    Hire, train, develop, supervise, and motivate the drafting team to meet established goals and objectives of the Drafting department
    Develop and status detailed drafting schedules in accordance with project control level schedules
    Monitor, implement and evaluate drafting related processes and procedures to ensure the satisfaction of project objectives / milestones
    Identify and resolve issues effectively and efficiently
    Managing changes that affect the development of engineering drawings.
    Development of department procedures
    Coordination and planning of checking activities
    Communicating with the project management team to ensure issues are identified early in the design development process and that project milestones are satisfied
    Converting sketches into finished drawings and identifying the shortfall of information
    Mentorship and ongoing development/training of the drafting team
    Electronic Rollerboard
    Ensure the set up of intelligent drafting software for projects

    Knowledge of P&ID design and drafting techniques, and EPC work processes
    Possesses a strong aptitude for problem solving
    Strong MS Excel / MS Access skills
Basic Job Requirements
    10 years of progressively responsible piping drafting experience in the oil and gas industry, including staff management/supervision
    A diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent
    Extensive working knowledge of Microstation, AutoCAD, SmartPlant PID, & AutoPlant PIW
    Experience with engineering change management protocols and procedures
    Strong technical skills to create drawings and interpret technical documents
    Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills
    Strong organizational and time management skills
    Attention to detail and strives for excellence
    Ability to remain composed under pressure
Preferred Qualifications
    Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets.
    The use of Discipline Specific software may be required.
