Our client in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is currently seeking a Materials Assistant to join their team on a site project north of Lac La Biche.
Summary
The Materials Assistant organizes inventory control of material required for the project. Also is responsible for material transfers between sites. This individual will ensure that material is managed appropriately. The Materials Assistant will also ensure that inventory is appropriate and accurate to meet the project schedule.
Responsibilities
    Ensure daily activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
    Responsible for inventory management, project materials, project inventory and procurement.
    Ensure department goals are met and constantly looking for continuous improvements in the processes.
    Ensure staff adheres strictly to operational procedures, safety, health, security and quality policy.
    Reporting to the Construction Manager, this person must understand project needs in terms of logistics and requirements.
    Liaise with other departments to get information on purchase and requisition orders.
    Ensure safe warehousing, equipment preservation as per the client specifications
    Ensure proper recording of material once received at site.
Qualifications
    Relevant post-secondary education
    3 - 5 years of working experience in related field is required for this position.
    Previous experience working in an industrial construction industry (asset)
    Excellent communication and people management skills.
    Developed analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
    Capable of participating in and facilitating group meetings
    Exemplary professional verbal and written communication skills
    Excellent organizational and time management skills
    Meticulous record-keeping skills
    Capable of working independently with minimal direction
    Possesses an eye for detail
    Proactively seeks and accomplishes tasks that lead to a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
