Our PINELANDS Family Client is seeking a special needs facilitator and afternoon au pair to assist her with her son of 10 years. TIMES REQUIRED: 7.30am to 4.30pm or 8am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays.

The au pair should be: Mature in attitude and life experience, educated. Have a passion for working with special need children, Have experience as a special needs facilitator/ au pair or anything related. They should be engaging, loving. kind, responsible, fun, energetic, creative and genuinely enjoy being with children. She should have emotional maturity, be grounded and not be flustered by anything

Job Description: He has cerebral palsy and he needs a facilitator for his time at school. In the afternoon the facilitator/au pair will accompany him to therapies, outings, etc. He catches but bus alone to school. The au pair will meet him there. The plan is for a facilitator to be with him at his school so his learning potential can be optimized. The school is not of the right standard as It is more of a day care centre, than a school, but with time he will be able to attend a 'higher level' school in the future, depending on how he progresses. He has a communication device called a Tobii which uses eye-tracking as a means to activate the computer (like an ipad attached to his wheelchair tray).

Must Haves: childcare experience (age group - 10 to 12 years) Special Need Experience. Childcare References - written, typed or handwritten. Essential Drivers license and reliable own car. SALARY: R8000 to 10,000 monthly salary plus petrol whilst on the job at R2.50 per km.
