Job description
Leading financial institution seeks to appoint a head of external communications
to manage the external reputation of the business with key stakeholders (as this relates to PR), and to implement defined external strategies. Responsibilities include:
Ensure all external communications builds and is aligned to business and brand strategy
Take responsibility for all crisis management, media relations and PR
Provide strategic external communications guidelines and advice to the individual business units to ensure that external communication initiatives can be effectively realised and leveraged on behalf of specialist business units in line with overall company objectives
Ensure that all media and PR messages are conveyed in the most strategic and effective manner to a variety of target audiences for maximum success
Manage highly media and PR related projects and events
Keep abreast of business developments within the business units and changes that may impact on the external communications functions
Develop and maintain mutually beneficial and effective relationships
Define measurement, monitor and report on all external communications projects
Provide best practice and guidelines on monitoring and measurement for business units on external communications
Understand business objectives and translate this into relevant external communication plans
Manage external communications agency

Requirements
Bachelor degree in communications or media studies
Eight to ten years experience in communication, of which at least five years should have been in media relations
Ability to work at an international level
A knowledge and understanding of diverse cultures
