Senior Voice Engineer, Maitland, Cape Town, Advertised By Private, Job Type Full-Time

We are looking for a Senior Voice Engineer to join our highly motivated and hardworking team of VoIP and infrastructure specialists in our ISP/VSP business.

The applicant should have at least 5+ years' experience in the IT & voice networking environments.

Remuneration: Negotiable depending on experience; A probationary period will apply.

Job Profile: Your primary responsibilities would be: Hosted vPBX platform maintenance and administration – Linux / Asterisk / MySQL system with web based management; Voice platform and solution development and improvements; Client solution design, implementation and support; Assistance with core and aggregation network management, configuration and maintenance – Cisco, Huawei and Extreme Networks based infrastructure.

In addition, the person we are looking for should be able to: Design client connectivity solutions using various technologies – MS Visio based; Provision 802.1q VLAN circuits with port and VLAN rate-limiting; Assist with core and aggregation network design and planning; Guide system installations, document procedures, and enforce policies and standards; Access and interpret various web-based network monitoring systems – Cacti, Nagios; Understand firewalls and network security; Understand SIP signaling and interpret SIP traces; A more detailed job description is available on request.

Qualifications: A 3 year tertiary qualification (degree or diploma); Relevant industry certifications; Certifications in Cisco CCNP, CWNA/CWNP would be an advantage; Telecom or Broadband industry-specific certifications and experience a plus and attach an up-to-date CV and copies of current certifications.
