CH2M is currently seeking a Senior Field Installation Inspector for our team, in this role you will be part of an elite team of professionals focusing on Transit and Rail projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide on-site inspection of construction projects to determine conformance with contract specifications to support engineers or related professionals engaged in the planning, management or supervision of construction inspection services. Witness and inspect construction work related to electrical/civil/mechanical/signal/ATC field and room equipment installation. Prepare daily inspection reports, identifying variances to planned work and report problems and issues to supervisor. Verify that all installation and construction activities are compliant to the approved project drawings and approved work plans. Monitor contractor resources for compliance to property and agency safety requirements including track safety, flagging, requests for track access, communication and personal protection equipment.

Attend job briefs, ensure work plan requirements and resources are in place prior to start of work. Coordinate with multiple contractor crews, work trains, work vehicle operators, peer inspectors and supervisor as required to ensure safe working conditions for site crew. Perform inspection of installation work for Signal and Communications equipment, cable laying, cable pulling, cable duct banks, bungalows, rooms, wayside cases, junction boxes, fiber distribution boxes, etc.

Perform inspection of installed equipment such as signals, track circuits, switch machines, wayside cases, junction boxes, bungalows, cables, cable support equipment, conduits, communication access points, fiber distribution panels in an operating railroad environment. Perform inspection of installed civil foundation supports, structure, pedestals, poles as required to support signal, electrical and mechanical equipment on an operating railroad. Perform inspection of installed electrical, traction power and utility power equipment on an operating railroad.

Coordinate with multiple disciplines in a railroad and transit environment such as electrical/ traction power department, track department, civil structures, mechanical ,quality, safety, m maintenance and Operations during field installation work to ensure correct installation.

Provide daily interface and coordination with signal construction contractor(s). Be flexible and provide coverage of 8 hour shifts during day or night and weekends. Prepare and submit summary and daily reports as needed on Construction/ Inspection activity.

The minimum qualifications for this position are: Candidate should have performed the role of field inspector on large, complex signal/communications/traction power construction projects on an operating transit system/railroad for a minimum of 15 years. Ability to demonstrate familiarity on construction and installation best practices, local codes and standards. Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of and familiarity with wayside signal equipment, traction power/electrical/utility equipment on rail/transit/transportation agencies. Ability to demonstrate familiarity with construction and installation drawings for signal/communications/electrical work related to rail and transit projects. Have familiarity with typical railroad and transit agency requirements, compliance criteria and approval process. Have a thorough knowledge of rail and transit safety practices for working on track, Four year degree
