IT Security Engineer - Permanent

Role:  IT Security Engineer – Permanent

Our Client is urgently looking for an IT Security Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will act as a technical IT Security Subject Matter Expert.

Responsibilities:

1.  Design, evaluation and implementation of security solutions
2.  Development and expansion of a best practice approach to IT security operations across the enterprise
3.  Provision of technical security advice and guidance to change and implementation projects
4.  Security administration of Active Directory (log monitoring / review,  group policy hardening, design of administrative rights assignment structure)
5.  Security Information Event Management -  audit log review and escalation, Web / email content filtering, firewalls, antivirus log review
6.  Security projects as required (research, identification of new threats, co-ordination with vendors)
7.  Penetration testing and security review of vendor solutions
8.  Security Standards and Policy development as required. Maintenance of library of policies and compliance assurance
9.  Security Review of existing and evolving systems

Experience:

1.  Excellent understanding of IT security concepts
2.  Firewall, IDS, Web /email proxy administration experience
3.  Ability to self-educate via research and experimentation
4.  Systems administration (active directory, Windows, SQL, Linux)
5.  Operating Systems knowledge (Windows, Linux)
6.  Virtualization Experience (VMware)
7.  Vulnerability Management experience (scanning and remediation)
8.  IT certifications (CISSP, CCNA Security, COBIT, MCSE, MCITP)
