Job description
The Dis-Chem in-house studio is looking for an experienced packaging design specialist with strong conceptual ability, good spelling and grammar and an eye for detail to work on a variety of brands.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic, open minded team player. The ideal candidate should be creative, consistent hard worker and hungry to learn.
Your versatile skills and crafting will add flair to packaging, in store signage, magazine ads, brochures, point of sale material, and newsletters. You'll join forces with the current in-house designers and report to the in-house creative manager.
Company Description: Established in 1978, Dis-Chem started out as a small pharmacy in Mondeor, South of Johannesburg. Today the group is still privately owned and run by the original founders.
Requirements
· Highly capable in Adobe Creative Suite software CS5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
· Relevant design qualification
· Presentable portfolio of work
· Minimum two to three years' packaging design experience
· Operate on a Mac platform
· Attention to detail
· Ability to balance priority and creative balance
· Team player
· Able to search and design best of market ideas
Advantageous
Experience in large format printing, FMCG product experience, Retail experience, Knowledge of Corel Draw, Microsoft Office, HTML, Flash, Key Notes, Photography
