Job description
iGroup, a technology-driven digital solutions company is seeking a talented, well-rounded web designer to join our team. You need to be passionate about design for the web as well as mobile and mailers. You will work with developers across the web, as well as all mobile platforms. PHP knowledge will be highly advantageous but HTML5 and responsive design experience is imperative.
The applicant should possess strong visual and conceptual problem-solving skills that can be used to generate exceptional ideas that integrate user experience best practices and ecommerce business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Completion of design and design elements on all projects to the defined due date.
• Completion of all alterations to designs and design elements by the relevant due date.
• Completion of mailers to specification with all relevant links, etc. Working correctly and all design elements adhering to standard styling, etc. by due date and time.
• The achievement of all deadlines.
• Client communication where necessary on requirements and feedback
• Communication with the relevant project team with regards to feedback, status and issues.
• Provision of the weekly status updates as defined.
• Interpretation of the relevant high level specification and client requirements, taking the clients branding and CI into account and subsequent translation thereof into a design.
• Liaison with the relevant project manager and/or development team on design aspects, prior to client submission of the design, to ensure the technical capabilities match the design ideas
• Updating project plans, smart sheets (or other software used) and timelines as required.
• Provision of weekly time sheets documenting all work carried out and the time frame for the work.
• Responsible for the backup of the design templates and elements completed.
• Responsible for banner creation, skin creation, full layout creation including mail templates.
• HTML of all design layouts
• Full responsibility for the relevant projects:
Planning of the relevant requirements
Template creation
Process flows within the system - the design and setup thereof
Feedback and communication to client and team
Competencies:
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.)
• Ecommerce and CMS design experience
• Solid understanding of navigation for maximising usability.
• Understanding of website trends (including designing for responsive websites)
• Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented environment
• Strong sense of design, layout, typography and branding for the web.
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS, web technologies and their strengths/limitations
• Ability to work independently, manage and set priorities.
• Detail oriented and well organised.
• Thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to create new design concepts from scratch.
