Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Construction Millwright Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
Experience: Experience an asset
Major Work Area: Machinery installation, New construction
Area of Specialization: Assembling machinery and equipment, Installing machinery and equipment, Start-up and testing, Shutdown operations, Renovating and restoring, Rigging and handling
Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Chemical plant, Manufacturing, Printing industry, Recycling industry, Sewage treatment plant, Water treatment plant
Type of Machinery or Equipment: Conveyors, Gas plant and shop compressors, Pumps and compressors, Grinders, Power tools
Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Specific Skills: Install machinery and mechanical equipment, Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Assemble machinery prior to installation
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Communication, Working with others, Decision making, Significant use of memory
