Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Work Setting: Automotive parts store
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Point of sale system, Electronic mail, Electronic scheduler, Word processing software, Database software, Inventory control software, General office equipment, Internet competency
Staff Responsibility: 1 - 20
Specific Skills: Plan, direct and evaluate daily operations, Manage staff and assign duties, Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on sales, Determine merchandise and services to be sold, Implement price and credits policies, Balance daily transactions, Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale, Develop and implement marketing strategies, Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses, Determine staffing requirements, Recruit and train staff, Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters, Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages, Authorize payments by cheque and the return of merchandise, Customer service oriented
