Position Summary: Ubuntu is looking for a temporary Professional Nurse from January to March 2016.

Job Summary:

Specific Tasks: Integration of HIV/AIDS management in paediatric and adult patients. Providing physical examination for patient during consultation and record data obtained such as pulse rate, respiration rate, blood pressure, temperature, weight and height. Able to implement TB, PMTCT and HIV Management for clients including baseline bloods. Draw blood for patients laboratory tests (CD4 count, ELISA HIV), Utilise available rapid test such as lactate metre, glucometer, haemoglobin meter, pregnancy test, HIV test as a clinical tool during consultation. Assist with interpretation of test results. Check and administer drugs and injections. Maintain patient records. Escort clients to hospital admissions. Provide intensive adherence counseling. Educate patients about their health. Provide mentorship for counselors, student and junior nurses. Conducting of home visits. Perform home assessments for ARV defaulter patients and patients in special condition (bed ridden, unable to walk) in collaboration with the home assessment team.

Facilitate support groups on various topics. Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation tools. Gather, analyse and submit all relevant statistical data on a monthly basis. Assist with reporting and proposal development.

Experience: Experience in project management highly preferred. Experience in the field of HIV/AIDS management would be highly beneficial. Candidates must be fully fluent in English & isiXhosa.

Educational Requirements: Applicants must possess a University Degree in a relevant discipline. Must be in possession of a current SANC registration. Salary: Salary range from R14431.48 up to R25128.76 per month depending on scope of competence and experience
