Project Manager (Cape Town), Reporting Line: Head of Programmes, Collaborations: Regional Head, Other Project Managers, Programme Managers, Business Development Specialists, Corporate clients, SMEs
Role Summary: Responsible for management of one or more projects on Enterprise & Supplier Development (ESD) engagements for the company’s corporate clients. Including some client engagements and provision of inputs into the overall Programme Plan and managing Business Analysts on the Programme.
Core Activities: Project Managers are required to ensure the effective management of project processes and delivery of contracted deliverables for client projects, including
Project planning: Development and management of the Project approach and project plan with associated roles responsibilities.
Project budgeting & governance: Closely monitor project expenditure against the approved budgets and provide inputs to Programme budget including associated governance responsibilities
Project management & reporting: Manage the execution of the client ESD Project engagements. This will include the collection and consolidation of inputs from Business Development Support teams and Business Analyst work streams.
Stakeholder management: Anticipate client needs and support client stakeholder engagements including Project scoping sessions, steering committees and reporting cycles.
SME growth support: Learn and apply the company’s SME Growth methodology, to help businesses develop a pragmatic, operationally grounded, clear strategy and plan to maximise sustainable, profitable growth.
SME Growth Projects: Tracking and managing SME Growth Projects within a larger Programme, including: weekly updates on SME performance and growth and related progress reports, regular engagement with mentors and entrepreneurs and review of Business Analyst outputs.
Product & IP development: The role will be required to assist in the enhancement & developing products used in the Project Management cycle.

Exceptional English skills; Strength in other official South African languages will be advantageous
Experience: 2 – 3 years in management consulting, project management or business strategy with a balance between business and operations exposure.
Alternatively we will consider candidates for this role who have more than 5 years’ experience in the end-to-end project management within a blue chip corporate environment and/or ii) have experience in venturing and small business management.
Qualifications: Degree with strong problem solving and quantitative underpinning (e.g. Commerce, Business Science, Information technology, Engineering).
Project Management training or certification (e.g. PMI, PMBOK, PRINCE2)
Alternatively, exceptional candidates (as measured against the experience and general capabilities listed above) will be considered if they have a tertiary degree or postgraduate qualification (e.g. PGM, PGDA, MBA), and a strong performance track record and references from their previous employers.
