Vetting Supervisor, Location, Midrand, Johannesburg, Advertised By Agency, Job Type Full-Time, The Vetting supervisor is accountable for the entire credit granting process, Keep breast of best practice methods and trends and make recommendations to the Subscriber Manager. Create a credit risk management environment of an acceptable quality, in terms of established credit guidelines. Develop sound, acceptable credit vetting policies for evaluating risk. Comply with rules of not over extending consumers in line with the NCR. Analyze vetting applications monthly and generate monthly quality reports for executives. Analyze the performance of existing clients and make recommendations to tweak policy based on outcome. Recommend changes in the Credit Policy to the relevant executive to obtain goals. Personally investigate the customer credit applications when required. Maintain a team organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives to include a fail proof succession plan. Manage, train, up-skill, motivate, retain and recruit staff, Manage relations with Sales Supervisors and staff to maximize the sales opportunities. Manage relations with Credit Control Supervisor and staff to minimise the opportunity of bad debt. Keep abreast of best practice methods and trends in the market and report and make recommendations to the relevant executive. Identify and document all policies and procedures for the vetting department. Comply with document storage policies. Manage vetting for public holidays to ensure maximum uptake. Manage and monitor the correspondence around pending applications. Investigate automated vetting proposals from all major bureaus and make recommendations to maximize sales and keep debt at acceptable level. Meet set deliverables. Standardize the manual authorizations process. Ensure that reviews and requests are dealt with timeously. Further and continuously develop Fraud prevention guidelines. Meet monthly with current credit bureau and action any needs. Involvement with 3rd party lead generation and sales agents to train, guidance on training, policies and procedures for maximum lead uptake. Implementation of loan account policies and procedures in line with the NCR for new loans. NCR compliance reporting yearly NCR form 39. Creation of cost of vetting policy and reporting monthly on this.
Education and Experience: Matric, 3 years of experience in Credit management particular to a Lending/Credit Business. Credit management diploma. Association to the CMA (Credit managers association of SA). Thorough understanding of relevant legislation of the National Credit Act and consumer protection act. Strong understanding of bureau rules and score cards, Experience in vetting credit applications, Fraud experience (documents and analysis), Extremely strong management skills, including staff and workloads. Deal confidently and effectively with staff at all levels, MS Office, Email, Word, Power point and Excel, Salary R15k per month
