About your environment: Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Achievement Program sits within the Prevention Division and aims to support workplaces, schools and early childhood services to enhance their health promoting environments. Other Prevention Division programs include: LiveLighter, SunSmart, PapScreen Victoria, Quit Victoria, Bowel Screening, the Obesity Policy Coalition, Alcohol Policy and Priority Populations.

About your opportunity: We are seeking a highly organised and self-motivated Media and Communications professional to join the Prevention Division’s Media and Communications team. Reporting to the Media Manager and working closely with relevant program managers, your role is to:

Lead, develop and deliver the Achievement Program’s media and communications strategies including paid or unpaid campaigns, member communications, launches and events.

Plan and coordinate media and communications activities for the Alcohol Policy team including proactive and reactive media around topical issues.

Lead and implement communications activities for the Priority Populations team including targeted communications to culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

We are looking for someone with: A tertiary degree in communications, public relations or other relevant discipline. Substantial experience in planning and implementing integrated multi-faceted media and communication strategies / campaigns, with highly developed media relations skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations.

What we can offer you: This full-time fixed term position to 30 June 2016 provides a salary within range $63,000 - $70,000 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card.  We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities, and a location close to public transport.
