Our Agency: The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (Agency) is an Australian Government statutory authority that is at the forefront of the gender equality debate, a high profile topic in the public sphere.

Established under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, the Agency is committed to raising public awareness of gender equality issues in Australian workplaces, and providing practical solutions to employers to help them address inequalities.

The Senior Research Advisor is part of a highly engaged Research and Analysis team that seeks to educate and influence positive change in Australian workplaces by:

Promoting informed, evidence-based public discussion and acceptance of gender equality

Collaborating strategically to build strong relationships between the Agency and its stakeholders

Using the Agency’s data-rich research to position it as the leading source of information and advice on workplace gender equality issues.

Job description: The Senior Research Advisor will be responsible for the management and delivery of research projects, monitoring, collating, and disseminating relevant gender diversity and related research, and managing internal and external research requests. This role is also responsible for assisting with the provision of data & statistical services within the Agency.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: In depth knowledge and understanding of gender equality issues in the workplace, including awareness of current trends, issues and policy in the gender equality

Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to deliver content that effectively interprets and summarises relevant research data and literature in an accessible way

Their ability to deliver time-critical work under broad direction, with a high level of attention to detail, while working flexibly and co-operatively in a team

A proven record of achievement in managing research projects with a focus on utilising effective project management and research methodology to deliver successful results which support the aim and intent of the research initiatives

Experience in qualitative analysis, and an understanding of quantitative data analysis or continuing study in data analysis or another area of relevant study

Highly effective interpersonal and stakeholder management skills including the ability to build and maintain networks and liaise effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Experience in utilizing MS Office software including Word, Excel (advanced), PowerPoint and Outlook.
