My client is a company dedicated to natural nutritionally superior pet products. They proudly manufacture their quality products here in Tauranga, New Zealand using only premium, all natural ingredients.

We are looking for a Shift Manager for the Twilight Shift (2pm 11pm) from Sunday through till Thursday. This is a significant leadership and development role and this will ideally suit a shift manager who will continue to grow their career into further leadership roles within this global business. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is seeking a development pathway to a Plant Manager position in the future.

Reporting to the Site Manager, as Shift Manager you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing team to deliver operational, safety and people performance targets. You will foster a culture in which quality, product safety and human safety are paramount.

The purpose of the role is to plan, co-ordinate and control all activities on the twilight shift, to ensure the efficient operation of the shift to meet the production plan with the right quality product at the right time. As well as ensuring manufacturing and packing operations are in place and implemented, while facilitating and developing employees and complying with environmental legislation to minimize operational costs.

Ideally you will be an experienced and successful Manager with approximately 5 years experience within a manufacturing industry as well as holding a Diploma or Degree in Applied Science, Manufacturing or Engineering.

To succeed in this role you will need to have excellent communication, relationship building, and negotiating skills. You will have well-developed planning and strategic thinking skills and be confident in contributing to the long term development and success of the site. You will have a strong knowledge of best-practice production management, packing and handling.
