Location: City Centre, Cape Town, Advertised By Private, Job Type Full-Time, Salary: R180K per annum

Job Function: The Junior BI Administrator is responsible for the health (performance, reliability, availability, security and recoverability) of the entire BI environment. This is a junior position. The candidate will report to and be mentored by the current BI Administrator and assist him with his responsibilities. The team and environment will offer a great learning opportunity for the aspiring BI professional. The candidate will work onsite within the Business Intelligence team at one of our clients.

Responsibilities: Ensure the efficiency of the BI environment by monitoring the performance, reliability and availability (uptime) of the BI technical environment. Monitor and optimize the processing of the Data Warehouse in close consultation with the Database Administrator (DBA).

Monitor usage patterns and the response times of BI reports / analysis and formulate actions and strategies to improve performance. Manage the security of the BI environment by managing user accounts and access privileges and ensure reliable user authentication. Administer databases and install required upgrades and patches. Maintain backup and recovery documentation. Remain current with trends and developments in Data Warehousing, BI architecture and BI technologies.

Requirements: Relevant 3 year tertiary or NQF aligned qualification. 1-2 years’ experience in a Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse environment.
