Financial Accountant, Location: Brits, North West, Duration: Permanent, Start Date: ASAP, Type of Business: Mining, Remuneration: R 980 000 CTC

Purpose of the Job: To manager Accounts Payable, US$ cash flow and banking, Treasury (Forex) back office as well as the preparation and verifications of all debtors invoicing and reconciliations.     

Main Functions: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

Effective management of the Accounts Payable Department

Performing the month end closing process and reconciliation of ledgers

Ensure the Accounts Payable team reply to all queries in a timely manner and all queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Effective management of the Accounts Receivable Department

Preparation and verification of monthly sales, COS, Debtor and provision calculations

Follow up on long outstanding debt and reducing debtor’s days though effective collection of debt

Daily and monthly reporting and account reconciliations

Ensure Credit Risk insurance cover in place for local and international debtors together with reporting and monthly submissions

Insurance claims related to freight and marine cargo

TREASURY

Manage payment of creditors as well as other cash book payments

Performing month end closing process and reconciliation

US $ Cash book maintenance in terms of cash inflows, foreign exchange instruments and cash outflows

Timely submission of information for Cash Management (Daily/Weekly/as required)

GENERAL

Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained(JSox and corporate governance)

Assist with the budget and forecast preparation

Regular reporting and analysis to key senior managers on all processes

Compliance to the company SHEQ policies and procedures and participation in safety for Finance/Admin

Requirements: CA (SA)

Minimum 5 years post articles experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury

In-depth knowledge of IFRS in terms of technical accounting and reporting requirements

Experience in Microsoft Office and specifically Excel (Understanding V-Lookup, Pivot and Functions – an advantage)

Syspro knowledge will be an added advantage
