Section 13 Electrician

Purpose of the position: Provide electrical services by installing, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment and upgrading electrical systems and equipment. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes

Requirements: Qualified section 13 electrician

·        3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance, work and repair in a manufacturing environment

·        Have knowledge of Food and Safety standards

·        Require basic knowledge regarding programming and fault finding on plc system

·        Basic Pneumatic knowledge

·        Be in a possession of a valid driver’s licence

·        Able to work overtime, standby and shifts if necessary

Responsibilities: Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components, VSD and motor starters 3 phase and single phase. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Be able to read electrical drawing and implement practical solutions, do project plans and execute as requested. Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous. Maintain all factories supply’s and complete distribution. General electrical maintenance of buildings. Timely respond to emergency situations during and after hours and resolve immediate safety concerns. Prepare daily and weekly planning jobs schedule, Completion of documents (job cards, calibration, checklist). Do all required admin work and adhere to all legislative requirements.
