St. Mary's Academy St. Mary's Academy, a Grades 7-12 Catholic girls' school in the tradition of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, is accepting applications for the following position effective September 2, 2014. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION TEACHER & DEPARTMENT HEAD The religious education program is a key component of the academic curriculum and the religious culture at SMA. Courses are designed to provide students with knowledge and understanding of the Catholic/Christian faith. The Religious Education Department Head teaches religion courses, exercises leadership in planning and monitoring the curriculum and collaborates with staff to develop and nurture religious knowledge and faith in individuals and the school community. Qualifications: - Practicing Catholic - Valid Manitoba teaching certificate - Degree in theology, religious studies, divinity or liturgy - Knowledge of current religious studies programs - Experience in developing religious studies curriculum - Experience working with youth and collaborating with other adults
