POSITION: Mental Health Child and Youth Worker -- Permanent Full-Time
CURRENT LOCATION: Mental Health Child and Youth Services - Surrey
CURRENT HOURS: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday with some flexibility required)
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Youth Mental Health worker requires the ability to support children and youth to engage in positive and developmentally appropriate activities with peers and in the community. The worker possesses the ability to provide activity base interventions including one-to-one work or group work focusing on skill building and/or support stabilization in family and the community. The Youth Worker requires a demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with case managers and other professional staff. Would ideally possess demonstrated skill in participating in case conferences and integrated case management. Transporting clients also required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in related field
• Ability to effectively use a computer
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
• Driver's License and own vehicle
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Prefer an undergraduate degree social services or psychology
• Two years' experience working with children, youth and their families
• Training or courses related to mental health theory and intervention
• Requires experience with, and understanding of, clients and families dealing with mental health issues
• Criminal record check required
START DATE: As soon as possible
SALARY: $17.46 -- $20.89 per hour
BENEFITS: As per benefits package
