Women’s Rugby Coach FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Athletics Director Hours: .10

The Life West Rugby organization is committed to developing a high-quality playing roster through targeted scholarship programs, effective recruitment, player development and our strong culture. The Women’s Rugby Coach will be responsible for planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, communicating and administering of the woman’s program to achieve college and department objectives. Goals and objectives are to be developed prior to the beginning of each season with the Director of Rugby.
RESPONSIBILITES
Supports management of team academically and athletically Tracks student-athlete academic progress Organizes and conducts practice activities Prepares team and opponent video analysis and maintains records as required. Evaluates and recruits students and athletes Identifies talented, academically qualified prospective student-athletes and effectively
communicates with coaches, prospects and parents Respects department’s commitment to excellence, integrity, respect and leadership Collaborates with head coach to develop annual goals for program Attends workshops, training sessions and meetings as required by the College and the conference
Assist with fundraising, marketing and promotional activities, administration of sports camps and/or clinics Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Physical Education, Sports Management, Parks & Recreation or a related field and minimum of 2-years’ experience in a recreational position with at least 1year at a supervisory level, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: High comprehension of Team Attack (team & individual); Team Defense (team & individual), Game Planning, Technical & Tactical Strategy, Kicking (tactical kicking strategies and relevant skills); Analysis (coaching team has a strong analysis bias in order to review and plan strategies effectively)

Ability to understand and clearly articulate game plans one-on-one and to the team. Teamwork – must be effective working in a coaching team to achieve shared and individual
KPIs Knowledge of and ability to apply rules governing play of each sport offered. Oral and written communication skills with ability to read and interpret documents such as:
Safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions & procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to create attack strategies. Computer skills including current MS Office Suite and department-related software Possess and maintain a valid photo ID driver’s license
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sit, stand, walk climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work performed in a general office environment, Sports fields and Fitness Center. Periodic travel may be required.
