The Role:
We are growing our QA team and are looking for energetic and easy going individuals who are interested in expanding their existing QA skill set while working on exciting projects in an environment that fosters growth on both personal and career fronts. The candidate must be self motivated and capable of working in a larger synergetic team setting.

Role Responsibilities:
• Work in a client-server environment where you will be required to use both front end (web app) and back end (a series of systems designed to archive incoming messages) to execute test cases
• Responsible for understanding the application under test along with the supporting infrastructure
• Responsible for assistance with the setup and trouble-shooting of test environments that are owned by the team
• Responsible for participating in various presentations to the product owner or other key stakeholders
• Identify, report and verify software defects working with developers to help to reproduce and resolve bugs
• Participate in documentation of team QA methodologies and technical QA requirements/findings for posterity’s sake
• Training of new QA team members in areas of expertise
• Accountable for production issues in areas where testing was performed; work with Technical Support and other departments to narrow down production issues when applicable
• Work with Senior QA Analyst(s) in definition and implementation of new QA Tools
• Create and Execute Test Cases using TestLog, Defect Reporting and Defect Verification using JIRA based on the Agile Scrum model
• Contribute suggestions with respect to QA Processes on the team and assist the Senior QA team members in the implementation and maintenance of said processes
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of web application testing experience
• In-depth understanding of testing methodologies and their relevance to the product under test; easily identifying which methodologies have not yet been applied to the areas that the Intermediate QA Analyst is responsible for and their benefit
• Granular understanding of points of integration between product under test and other test suites
• A basic understanding of MIME email format, mail headers, mail servers (SMTP and IMAP) and mail clients (eg. MS Outlook/Outlook Express)
• General understanding of domains and networking principles
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment with rapidly changing responsibilities and requirements
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with writing high level test plans and auditing test cases
• Ability to work as part of a self-organizing team in which you determine your tasks on a daily basis in co-ordination with coworkers rather than waiting for work to be assigned to you
• Quick learner who enjoys learning new technologies and is able to keep the big picture in mind during the testing of a system that integrates with other systems
Desirable:
• Working knowledge of UTF-8, UTF-16, ASCII, Unicode and encryption standards that are used for emails sent in various languages
• Comfortable working on Linux and Windows Platforms
• Basic Java development experience
• Conceptualization of GIT or SVN
• Experience with tools such as J-Meter/Test Partner/Selenium for Functional Automation
