About the Role
The Product Owner will work with us in our Vancouver office and will require a solid understanding of our users, the market place, the competition and of future trends and needs for those living in multi-dwelling communities.
The right candidate will be high energy, detail-oriented and passionate about the real estate and technology sector. You are resourceful, able to lead and can manage multiple projects at once.
This position reports to the VP of Product and works closely with the Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and Development teams. We have a great work environment that is collaborative, innovative, empowering, and fun. Everyone on our team drives stellar results and we expect the same from you.
About You
You should be highly creative, have a bias for action, and have mastered the art of breaking a complex product vision down into executable steps. You're a brilliant consensus builder who can effectively and efficiently articulate product vision, purpose, and focus. You know how to motivate people. Part data nerd, part realist, you are obsessed with measurement, and diligent about answering the hard questions: are really using your products? How are they using them?
You have a proud history of shipping, and understand how to balance perfection against an agreed upon delivery date. You are an empathic advocate for your users and champion a listen-first-ask-question-sooner approach to improving your products.
Above all else, you love asking "WHY?"
Responsibilities:
Part of the Product Owner responsibilities is to understand and help shape the vision of what is to be built, and convey that vision to the development team through the product backlog and a prioritized list of features for the product.
Lead requirements gathering on User Stories and review with development
Write User Stories for Epics and review with development
Attend development meetings, including scrum meetings, daily standups, retrospectives, demos and others as required.
Lead backlog grooming
Create mockups working with UX on design
Respond to questions from development to clarify requirements
Document new features for implementation and release notes
Write user acceptance criteria working with development
Demonstrate new product functionality to customers (pre-release) and other stakeholders to gather feedback
Support marketing and sales with automation tools
Qualifications:
The Product Owner role requires an individual with business savvy and communication skills. The Product Owner needs to be actively engaged with their teams and show commitment to do whatever is necessary to build the best product possible.
5 years of experience working in product and delivering exception results
5 years of business analysis experience
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Great organizational, self-management, and problem solving skills
Flexibility for scheduling based on business needs
Must be willing and able to travel as required
