The Role Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive Officer provides strategic and operational direction to the College with a focus on achieving the College’s strategic priorities, including: Enhancing members’ experience by delivering a diverse range of services which are collaborative, relevant, transparent and proactive. Strong corporate governance. Driving a program of educational renewal to ensure that the College is enabling physicians with the knowledge, skills and experience they need for the future.

Enhancing organisational culture and employee capability and fostering engagement by focusing on open communication and strong people leadership at all levels of the College. Streamlining governance and decision-making to create more agile, consistent and aligned responsibilities by improving delegations and driving operating efficiencies. Developing a comprehensive multi-year roadmap which addresses digital engagement, reduces manual intervention, drives operating efficiencies and enhances cyber defenses.

The Person The College operates in a complex stakeholder environment, and the new Chief Executive Officer will need to be adept at managing diverse stakeholder interests and priorities and ensuring that the College maintains respectful and inclusive relationships with Fellows and Trainees.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a record of achievement in leading a large, complex, geographically dispersed organisation ideally a membership-based, not for profit or healthcare organisation. The role requires a leader who is open, inclusive, collaborative and positive – capable of delivering change by fostering an engaged and sustainable workplace culture. Strong commercial and financial acumen, proven commitment to quality organisational management and the capacity to demonstrate high standards of personal and professional integrity in a complex, highly engaged governance environment, will also be essential.
