About the role: As a Master Data Management Specialist (MDM) at V/Line, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of critical data across our organization. Collaborating closely with V/Line Project teams and the infrastructure function, you advocate compliance with approved policies, procedures, and deliverables.

Key accountabilities include:

Network Establishment and Integration: Establish critical networks within the Asset Management & Performance department. Document specific maintenance requirements and integrate them into projects.

Asset Alteration Request (AAR): Serve as the primary contact for AARs related to State and 3rd Party project activities. Lead quality assurance reviews to validate accuracy and readiness for maintenance tasks upon infrastructure commissioning.

Internal Alignment and Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with NDAM and Project business functions. Ensure alignment on State and 3rd party project-related assets.

Root Cause Identification and Resolution: Engage process owners to identify deficiencies and opportunities. Focus on robust holistic solutions, prevention, and root case elimination.

System Monitoring and Data Analysis: Perform user management activities, including system and monitoring. Develop data evaluation capabilities within the EAMs (Enterprise Asset Management system) to meet business requirements.

Reporting and Decision Support: Develop and implement regular and ad-hoc reporting for Asset Management personnel and stakeholders. Enable informed decision-making for asset strategy development and works planning.

Asset Classifications: Manage and maintain asset classifications, distinguishing between discrete and continuous assets. Improve maintenance management and evaluation through efficient categorisation of assets.

About you We are seeking a strategic thinker with a knack for data analysis. An individual with demonstrated ability to analyse data effectively, turning numbers into actionable insights.

Your exceptional communication skills set you apart, enabling you to articulate complex issues with clarity and engage stakeholders at all levels, including senior management.

You thrive in complex and fast-paced environments, navigating challenges calmly and methodically.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role or industry. A love for data. Robust stakeholder engagement skills. Proven leadership abilities. Sound problem-solving skills. Demonstrated alignment with V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.

Highly regarded: Degree or equivalent qualification in Information Systems, software engineering or related discipline. Prior experience in Railway Asset Management and/or Railway Infrastructure.
