The responsibilities of the job incumbent include, but are not limited to: Plan and scheduling maintenance and irrigation activities. Maintaining bulk water/irrigation infrastructure. Fixing all small plumbing, electrical, painting, and repair jobs. Correct usage of machinery and equipment. Ensuring that all tools are well looked after. Communicating accurately and timely to ensure speed of quality services. Ensure that working schedules are adhered to. Maintain records of maintenance and irrigations working schedules. Responsible for inventory control and accurate timeous record keeping. Respond to requests by the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. Abide to all health and safety rules.

The ideal job incumbent must adhere to the following person specifications: Minimum of 5 years (continuously) working experience as a maintenance - /irrigation assistant. Physically fit. Applicable basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing experience· Must be familiar with implementation and repairs of maintenance – and irrigation systems (being a hands-on individual would be an advantage). Working in outdoor conditions. Irregular working hours. Must have a valid driver’s license. Detail orientated. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Use and maintain all personal protective equipment (PPE) recommended. Team player. Must reside in the Paarl/Wellington area. Must have own/reliable transport to and from work. A market related salary is offered.
