About the Role: The main purpose of the job is to ensure effective and efficiency in the planning, directing, managing, coordinating and supervising the acquisition, allocation, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement and disposal of fleet vehicles, in line with statutory and regulatory requirements within the industry.

Requirements: Matric / Grade 12 essential, tertiary qualification advantageous. 5+ years of experience as a Fleet Manager within the transport / logistics industry. MS Office skills. Examining information and interpreting data. Record management and maintenance.

Responsibilities: Manage the asset selection by understanding the business unit and end customer operational requirements, determining the availability of fleet and drivers, evaluating the effectiveness of vehicles for contracts. Manage vehicles purchasing, including vehicle branding, asset number allocation, after purchase fitments, vehicle allocation, pre-delivery preparation and inspection, optional extra equipment commissioning and fitment, licensing requirements and delivery timing.

Manage the vehicle asset disposal and de-commissioning process. Provide technical guidance and recommendations on optimal vehicle replacement. Manage vehicle disposal schedule with BUs. Manage used vehicle preparation (de-commissioning). Conduct pre-sale inspections. Manage the delivery and vehicle hand-over process. Manage fleet maintenance and image through implementing service plans to ensure vehicles are serviced on time, booked for COF's in a timely manner and refurbished as and when required.

Manage fleet uptime by Facilitating & fast-tracking vehicle repairs through collaboration with internal workshop management. Negotiate with external repair companies for the best repair quotes. Manage rental, loan and Demo vehicles. Blue-Key management and allocation. Ensure that all fleet vehicles are roadworthy and that relevant certificates are displayed. Knowledge of driver performance through the relevant systems in line with company policies and procedures.

Manage FM and FM related data on all systems in use by the company to ensure FM data as always updated, accurate and current. Manage vehicle usage and allocation. Manage Fleet Supervisors /Fleet Controllers /Yard Controllers /Brief and Debriefers. Ensure compliance to health, safety, statutory, industry and customer requirements. Adhere to the company's Road Traffic Management System. Accident and incident management. Comply with all company, reporting, Isometrix and accident process requirements. Ensure that break downs of fleet are speedily attended to and manage the process for obtaining of damage estimates and carrying out of repairs.

Arrange of recovery vehicles in the event of an accident. Meet with vehicle suppliers to ensure FM requests and fleet needs are met and escalated where needed.
