An International Lab Services Firm, that is a commercial testing laboratory, provides chemical and nutritional analysis, microbiological analysis and pesticide residue analysis to the food and related consumer goods industries, has a vacancy for a Sales Representative in their Cape Town branch.   The company offers practical testing, auditing, consulting, training, and research solutions to meet the needs of manufacturers, food processors, caterers and retailers.  If you are ready to step into a challenging but yet supportive environment, then do not miss out on this opportunity. The ideal candidate must be energetic and out-going, with a smart appearance and professional manner, who can work independently.  Minimum 2 – 4 years’ experience within a similar environment.

Responsibility You will be responsible for but not limited to: Plan and implement a sales strategy in line with the regional and national sales strategy in order to increase the current client base for all services in the region. Maintain and expand a market-segmented database of clients. Sales of all laboratory services. Assisting clients with quotations. Consulting with clients with regards to legislative requirements for industry. Meeting with and presenting to clients on a regular basis. Providing technical support and facilitate the understanding of the analyses. Staying abreast of latest industry developments. Reaching set monthly targets.

Education: B.Sc / National Diploma (Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Chemistry, Food Nutrition, Food Technology). Minimum 6 months lab experience a must. Computer Literate – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Minimum of 2- 4 years’ experience within a similar environment.

Drivers licence essential. Basic salary on offer:  R25 000 – R23 000 neg + company car & petrol, cell phone and cell phone allowance.

Desired Skills & Characteristics: Fully bilingual with good communication and interpersonal skills (public relations). Solid written and verbal communication skills. Customer service attitude. Self-motivated and results driven. Professional personal presentation. Ability to multi-task. Ability to work under pressure. Must be confident, persuasive, assertive and confident in your sales abilities. Must be self-disciplined, independent and have high energy levels. Must have a high degree of honesty, integrity and diligence.

Must be able to effectively and independently manage your diary to optimize sales and customer service.
