Retail sales associate (Retail Sales Building Supplies, Hardware, Drygoods)
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Day
Salary: $18.00 to $25.00 Hourly for 50 hours per week
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Rankin Inlet, Nunavut (1 vacancy)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Not required
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Department store, Rental shop, Hardware store, Clothing store, Footwear store, Sporting goods store, Home furnishing store
Type of Experience: Salesperson/clerk
Product Experience/Knowledge: Aluminum doors, windows and awnings, Building materials (other than lumber), Furniture and house furnishings, Lumber and plywood, Paint and wallpaper, Footwear, Sports equipment and clothing, Appliances, Lamps and lighting fixtures, Power tools, Flooring
Specific Skills: Operate cash register, Customer service oriented, Set up displays of merchandise in windows or display cases, Process money, cheque and credit/debit card payment, Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems, Suggest ways to care for goods, Provide cost estimates on materials, Work with minimal supervision, Perform minor repairs to products or equipment
Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer, Valid driver's licence, Travel expenses paid by employer
Other Information:Wages dependent on qualifications. Must be willing to locate in Rankin Inlet. Previous building/construction or retail experience is an asset.
