Essentials: Ability/willingness to Learn. Team Leader. Team Player. Ability to work under pressure and be list/task orientated. Drivers Licence. Min of 1-year experience at a 5* establishment and position is essential. The Assistant Manager’s primary portfolio is lodge operations when Lodge Manager is absent.

Core Competencies of the Job: Day to Day Operation of Lodge. Overseeing all departments. Dealing with guest complaints. Assisting Lodge Anchors if needed. Assisting Reservations as required. Dealing with suppliers and any individual that needs assistance from management. Ensuring guest satisfaction at all times. The discipline of staff. Resolving staff issues. Conducting weekly staff meetings. Completing Weekly rooming list. Ensure all departments are aware of upcoming events and ensuring that all extra items are ordered in advance. Handing over to Lodge Manager on her return. Completing orders for all departments when a relevant Anchor or Chef is absent.

Signing/Authorizing of all orders ( once checked ). Hosting during meals( ensuring guest satisfaction at all times). Standards – ensuring the set standards of the lodge are met at all times. Guest happiness is key. Assist all departments when relevant Anchor is absent. Employer or management may require other tasks to be done not listed in this description. Ensuring any maintenance issues are dealt with or proper handover is given to Lodge Manager. This should in no way affect a guest. Monthly Report to be given to Lodge Manager Operational.

Requirements: Training requirements for the upcoming month. Stock: Stock levels are to be kept at an adequate level, to maximize profit and minimize wastage. Bearing in mind at all times our guests need and the Lodges aim to become a 5 star Lodge. In your absence (Days off or leave) you will be required to ensure that adequate stock levels are available to your department staff.
