PHP / Laravel Developer – Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. Company Name: Fitness Network. We require a mid-level PHP / Laravel developer to join our digital team in our Port Elizabeth office. The successful candidate would be responsible for further development on existing ecommerce platforms, maintenance and new websites / applications.

What we do: Fitness Network sells gym equipment to South Africa and neighbouring countries, helping our customers work towards achieving a fit and healthy lifestyle. We also have a sister company in the UK.

Experience: 3+ Years of relevant industry experience. Skills: PHP / Laravel.

Requirements: Demonstrable experience with PHP including OOP, security, refactoring & design patterns. Knowledge of Laravel framework and experience building factories / facades / libraries using abstract classes, interfaces, traits. Good knowledge of MySQL and database design. Good core knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Javascript and jQuery. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities: Working within a team to execute development tasks on existing ecommerce and sales platforms. Write clean, secure, test driven, easily maintainable and modular code. Database designing and maintenance. Build reusable code and libraries for future use. Troubleshoot and debug applications. Ongoing maintenance, updates and support. Maintaining API integrations. Code refactoring where necessary. Reviewing code and providing valuable improvements.

Advantageous: Experience in RESTful API design and development. Experience with Javascript Frameworks (VueJS/ ReactJS / AngularJS). Experience with CSS frameworks (Bootstrap / Primer). Working knowledge of version controlling systems (Git). Experience with ecommerce based applications. Salary negotiable based on experience.
