Junior-Intermediate Python Developer, Randburg, Johannesburg. We are an e-Commerce startup looking for a Django & Python Front and back-end developer to manage and build our platform.  Responsibility will include developing on new products & services as well as site integrations and security updates. The position would support the Marketing/Product/Ops teams in all areas of keeping an eCommerce website running smoothly: web assets, email marketing, product setup, merchandising, inventory, testing, and strategy.

Duties & Responsibilities: Contributing to our growing list of Django and Python projects, but primarily to redeveloping our main eCommerce platform. Consistently review other team members’ code, and have your code reviewed as well.

Work closely with our product owner/s, designers, data/business analysts, and front-end and mobile developers to ensure the platform is achieving its goals. Working in an agile environment. That means participating in sprints, sprint rituals, and having good ticket hygiene! Knowing your own knowledge gaps and working to close them. We are all autodidacts and self-starters here, and we are always learning and improving.

Being a team player! A willingness to help where needed, mentor those more junior than you, and step up to whatever challenge we face as a team. Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements: 1.5 – 2 Years’ experience with Python. Bachelor’s degree/BTech/Diploma in Information. Technology or a similar field. Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML). Familiarity with Google Analytics nice but not required. Prior experience with WooCommerce and plugins is a plus. Implementation/modification of themes and plugins. A self-starter who enjoys autonomy and taking action, Must be extremely resourceful with a “can-do” & “I’ll find a way” attitude.
