Key performance areas: The Social Worker is responsible for the following Home based Social work services to people with life threatening illnesses. Group work as needed with patients and/or caregivers registered with Sungardens Hospice.

Community work to benefit the needs of the patients of Sungardens Hospice. Applicant should: Have at least 2 years’ experience as a Social Worker. Be registered with the SACSSP.

Be able to communicate in English and Afrikaans. Knowledge of any other of the South African official languages will be an advantage. Have a valid Code 08 driver’s license. Have proof of no criminal record. Be able to work and deal with members of the public at all levels. Be resilient, have good problem solving skills, and be reliable and accountable.

Be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programs. 3 Month probationary period after which a permanent contract will be considered, if performance is satisfactory. Working Hours – 30 hours per week. Salary negotiable. Position available from 1 Dec 2020.
