Cable Technician – Temporary, Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, Salary: R7000 to R9000 per month commensurate with experience and qualification. Temporary contract – 3 to 6 months.

Qualifications / Requirements Experience required: Valid drivers license essential – required to travel.

Must be qualified in: CAT 5, CAT 6. Experience in fibre optic cabling essential. Must be physically fit as work is physically demanding – working at heights etc.

Cable installations: Data cable (Cat5, Cat6), Telephone cable, Fibre optic cable, Electrical.

Installation of: Network racks, Switches, Routers, Fibre optic equipment, Various rack equipment, UPS installations.

Testing and repairing of: Fibre optic cables, Data cables. Extensive travel throughout the Eastern Cape, overseeing and carrying out sight installations. Site visits to establish job / project requirements. Prospecting and developing of new business. Ordering and purchasing of all stock required for project and contract work. Making out job cards where work is to be carried out. Site visits with clients where applicable to establish locations and aeras where work is to be carried out. Site inspections to ensure client satisfaction with work carried out and signing off on the job card.
