Location: Mbombela / Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, Job Type: Full-Time. A proven experienced retail manager is required at a Total garage in Welkom (Thabong).  As a Retail Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of operations. You will also be required to deal with human resources, marketing, customer service, targets and performing back-office duties. Although different oil companies use different petrol station systems, but the principle is the same, if you can operate Winbranch you can also easily learn namos, etc.

Responsibilities and duties: Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency both in the shop and on the forecourt; Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control; Analysing sales figures and forecasting future sales; Dealing with staffing matters; Responding to customer complaints and comments; Activeness on the sales floor and Forecourt; Maintaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer Initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing; Initiating changes to improve the business, e.g. revising hours to ensure the store can compete effectively in the local market; Setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth; Leading employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication.

A key focus of the role is to ensure that all staff members remain engaged and connected to the rest of the business. By holding regular one-on-one and team meetings with staff to ensure they’re still on track. This role is primarily about people so the people have to come first. Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics. Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving. Ensure an accurate and timely completion of daily, weekly and monthly reporting.

Candidate Requirements: More 2 year’s managerial experience in retail. Matric Qualification. Ability to drive and reach sales targets with the team. Customer service and rapport building skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to motivate and inspire team. Computer Literacy (POS, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook). A flair for visual merchandise presentation. A keen interest in retail and sales/selling. A strong customer service orientation. A strong administrative orientation. A flair for Proven experience in managing a teams.
