Support the Sales & Marketing team’s initiatives to increase our audiences every year. Queensland Symphony Orchestra is Queensland’s largest performing arts company and the State’s only professional symphony orchestra. Queensland Symphony Orchestra engages with more than 1.8 million people each year presenting over 196 live performances and other activities including digital streaming, broadcasts, recordings, touring and workshops. 79 musicians-proud, the QSO plays a pivotal role in Queensland’s arts landscape – educating children; mentoring aspiring performers; and performing with ballet and opera companies.  In addition to staging exciting blockbuster events, Queensland Symphony Orchestra attracts distinguished conductors and world renowned soloists as part of its critically acclaimed concert series.

Reporting to the Manager – Ticketing Services, you will work within a team of people who are passionate about orchestral music. The Box Office operates 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with usually one or two performances a week of an evening or weekend which are also staffed. This is a casual position.

Responsibilities include: Attend to enquiries from the general public, tradespeople, musicians and visiting artists. Manage email enquiries received from the public. Staff the performance ticket desk, including at off-site venues, issuing tickets and responding to customer enquiries. Process subscriber concert bookings and assist with the distribution of tickets. Assist with subscriber services including ticket exchange, donations, and general enquiries. Process single tickets and group bookings for concerts, including education and family concerts. Compile guest lists and distribute complimentary ticket to QSO Staff and guests. Data entry and account maintenance in the ticketing/CRM software program (Tessitura).

To be successful in this role: Courteous, patient, pleasant and helpful manner with both internal and external customers. Experience with payment processing, cash handling and reconciliation of takings. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Strong collaboration skills for working with colleagues within the Orchestra and key stakeholders. Ability to contribute ideas for the improvement of work processes and the work environment. Experience working with spreadsheets in Excel and creating documents using Word. Experience using Tessitura or another ticketing or CRM software desired.
