Registered Nurse, Location: Kalk Bay, Southern Peninsula, Job Type: Full-Time. Established International Addiction Centre is looking for an experienced and motivated Psychiatric Nurse to join their team in St James, Cape Town. Educational.

Requirements and Experience: Relevant B Cur Honours Degree or Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing. Current SANC Registration BLS qualification (advantageous). Minimum of 4 years of experience in Psychiatry. (Addiction experience advantageous.) Basic understanding of Dutch language and culture would be advantageous.

 Job Requirements: Able to lead the nursing team on their shift. Able to self-organise and co-ordinate relevant tasks within their team that need completing within a shift. Fully understand and function within set standards, unit specific protocols, nursing policies and procedures.

Complete client assessments to determine their needs. Develop a care plan based on nursing diagnosis outcomes. Accurate recording of all client interactions and mental state examinations. Actively participate in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and update clinical records as appropriate.

Establish a harmonious and compassionate environment that promotes client mental and physical health and provide the necessary support to families when required. Maintain cooperative relationships among Multi-Disciplinary and inter departmental teams to improve care standards, information communication and participating in team problem solving. (outcomes-based solutions).

Utilises supplies and equipment in an economical manner reducing wastage whilst maintaining quality of care provided to clients. Supervise team members and motivate them to continuously maintain and uplift relevant nursing standards. Promote overall positive image of the Organisation.
