Sales Representative – JHB, Location, Midrand, Johannesburg, Job Type Full-Time. We are a supplier of Plascon products to the government and municipal sector nationally and have branches nation wide.  We require a sales representative based in Midrand, JHB.

Job Purpose: Target market will be mostly low cost housing and emerging contractor market but will include municipalities, government departments and parastatals. Role is to penetrate and engage with target market to find out about project pipelines and requirements and to promote Plascon products. Maintain awareness of market and competitor activity. Understand client needs and pitch the appropriate paint solution at the right price. Manage the sales pipeline and calling cycles. Service and grow the current client base. Close deals that will result in a sustainable order book. Monitor progress towards a sales target. Represent the company at a senior level and interact with senior client representatives (Managing Directors & Senior Procurement Managers)

Job Requirements: Tertiary qualification in the field of Business / Sales & Marketing Degree or diploma advantageous Background in the building construction industry is ideal. Paint industry experience is not essential but knowledge of the target market (contractors and/or state entities) is essential. Willingness to travel in Gauteng and neighbouring provinces (North West Limpopo & Mpumalanga & Free State). Must be familiar with the territory. Must have a strong sales track record involving calling on clients. Must be able to represent the company at a senior level and have good negotiating and persuasive skills.

Must be in possession of a valid driver’s licence and have good driving skills. Good computer skills - Excel and Word skills. Understanding of pricing and business concepts and calculation skills (e.g calculate margins and markup). Excellent interpersonal skills. Driven, ambitious, self motivated and proactive. Able to interact and work co-operatively as part of a team. Honesty and integrity beyond reproach. Responsible, reliable and dependable. Fast Learner. Will need to undergo a criminal and credit check.
